Orbitform’s R-125 radial bench machine is designed for small work piece radial riveting. The bench machine, comprised of a radial forming modular powerhead, radial head with developed peen, adjustable column, base with t-slots for easy fixture mounting, and complete controls, is commonly used to assemble electrical components, medical devices, computer hardware, small hand tools and other small scale riveted assemblies. Radial heads come with a peen tool. The peen is the tool that actually contacts the rivet being upset or the post being formed. There are a wide variety of standard peens used with Orbitfom radial heads to help enhance your assembly process. Orbitform peen tools are designed for the specific purpose your forming or assembly application requires. Some peens ensure a certain aesthetic appearance while others flare or crimp the work piece involved. Orbitform offers many peen configurations including: conical form peen, flat form peen, captured form peen, crown form peen, flare form peen, eyelet form peen, ring stake form peen, and crimping form peen.

Orbitform Radial Head Options

  • Standard radial heads with 5 degree peen angle for minimum required forming force
  • Long reach radial heads with 3 degree to 5 degree peen angles for difficult to reach rivets or posts

Orbitform's standard radial heads are equipped with a 3 degree or 5 degree angle forming peen tool. The angled peen tool allows rivets to be formed with less downward forming force than with a traditional press, as the angled peen produces minimal rivet shank swell and lower rivet shoulder swell. The angled peen technology allows a smaller machine to permanently assemble products such as automotive hinge assemblies.
