With impact riveting, the rivet or fastener is automatically fed and inserted through holes in selected parts (shank leading) into lower tooling. Then the rivet or fastener is formed to a desired head form on the tenon end, joining and securing components together.
Impact Staking: Material is cut and peeled away from the substrate to form over the part it is retaining.
A rivet is punctured through a material stack-up into lower form tooling, to fasten and secure the materials together.
