Typical Applications
Resistance welders pass electrical current through a localized area between two or more layers of thin metal, heating the area until melting occurs - forming a bond. Some common applications include HVAC and cookware, with a typical metal thickness between .5-3mm.
Orbitform's resistance welders are available as complete turn-key systems. Custom part fixturing and tooling is designed to suit each application. Each resistance welder utilizes Orbitform's standard pneumatic Powerhead, eliminating the need for Air/Oil weld cylinders. Systems includes a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with touchscreen (HMI) for machine control, water cooled tooling (chiller unit not included), and safety options such as light curtain, guarding, and palm buttons. AC and DC current units are available. Designed, Assembled, Tested, and Run-off on our factory floor, each machine is shipped ready for production.
